These terms apply when you order a book from Rowen Hollow. By placing an order, you agree to them.

Rowen Hollow is a small studio in the Hudson Valley, New York, that creates bespoke coffee table books written in the voices of pets. We are operated by a New York limited liability company. References to "we," "us," or "our" mean Rowen Hollow.
Each Rowen Hollow book is created uniquely for a specific pet — the prose, the pet's portrait, and the personal details are crafted just for them. Background elements and common objects (a ball, a couch, ornamental details) may draw from our shared illustration library and appear in other Rowen Hollow books, but the book as a whole is yours alone.
Two editions are available: the Paperback ($40) and the Hardback ($69). Prices are in U.S. dollars and do not include shipping unless noted.
We also offer gift cards that allow a recipient to redeem and complete the questionnaire themselves.
When you place an order, you complete a questionnaire about the pet who will be the subject of the book. We use your answers, along with any photos you upload, to craft a book that is unique to that pet. Each book is crafted using a combination of writing, design, and technology — the questionnaire you complete shapes a one-of-a-kind narrative, layout, and illustration set, created uniquely for the pet.
Once your order and questionnaire are complete, we begin production. Production and shipping typically take about two weeks. We will email you when your book ships.
Payments are processed by Shopify. We accept major credit cards and other payment methods supported by Shopify Payments. By placing an order, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.
Taxes are calculated at checkout based on your shipping address.
We ship to the regions listed at checkout. Shipping options, rates, and delivery estimates are calculated and displayed before you complete your order.
Once a book ships, we provide a tracking number. Delivery times depend on the carrier and your location.
If shipping address changes are needed before your book ships, contact us at hello@rowenhollow.com as soon as possible. Once the book is in production, address changes may not be possible.
Because each book is custom-made for a specific pet, we do not accept returns or exchanges.
If your book arrives damaged or has a defect from our end (printing error, binding issue, wrong content), please contact us at hello@rowenhollow.com within 14 days of delivery with photos of the issue. We will replace the book at no cost to you, or issue a refund if a replacement is not possible.
Damage caused after delivery (spills, drops, mishandling) is not covered.
You own the physical book you purchase. You may keep it, gift it, display it, or share it as you wish.
We retain all rights to the design system, prose engine, illustration style, and brand elements of Rowen Hollow. The book you receive is licensed to you for personal use. You may not reproduce, resell, or distribute the book commercially without our written permission.
The photos you upload remain your property. We use them solely to create your book. We do not use customer photos for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than fulfilling your order.
When you complete the questionnaire, you agree to:
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order if the questionnaire contains content that violates these terms. If we cancel for this reason, you will receive a full refund.
If you purchase a book or gift card as a gift, you are responsible for providing accurate shipping and recipient information. We are not responsible for misdirected gifts due to incorrect information provided at checkout.
Gift cards do not expire and have no cash value.
We make every effort to ensure that the books we create are well-crafted and faithful to the information you provide. However, the prose, illustrations, and overall content reflect a creative interpretation of your answers. We do not guarantee that any specific phrase, image, or detail will appear in your book.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to your order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to existing customers via email when reasonable.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of New York.
