This policy explains what information Rowen Hollow collects when you order a book or use our website, how we use that information, and the choices you have.

Who we are
Rowen Hollow creates bespoke coffee table books about pets, operated by a New York limited liability company in the Hudson Valley. For the purposes of this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Rowen Hollow. “You” refers to anyone visiting our website or placing an order.
What we collect
When you visit rowenhollow.com or place an order, we collect the following:
From you, directly:
- Information you provide when telling us about your pet (the pet’s name, your name, details about the pet and the household, photos you upload, optional notes)
- Contact information (email address, name, shipping and billing address)
- Payment information, which is collected and processed by Shopify — we do not store full payment card details ourselves
Automatically, when you visit our site:
- Basic technical information (browser type, device, approximate location, pages visited)
- Cookies used to keep the site and checkout functioning (our analytics tool does not use cookies)
How we use it
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and deliver the book you ordered
- Communicate with you about your order (confirmations, shipping updates, questions if something is unclear)
- Process payments and handle refunds when applicable
- Improve the website and our services
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use customer information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to fulfilling your order.
If you start a book and give us your email to save your spot, we will use it to send you your link and up to two reminders. That is all.
Who we share it with
To create and deliver your book, we share certain information with the services we use to fulfill your order. We only share what is necessary, and we never share customer data for any purpose beyond fulfilling your order.
The main services we rely on:
- Shopify processes your order and payment, and receives the information needed for that
- Prodigi prints and ships your book, and receives your shipping information and the book file
- Email delivery services send order confirmations and shipping notifications
- Hosting and storage providers store our website and your order records securely
- Writing and illustration technology helps us craft the prose and illustrations that go into your book
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build profiles or for any purpose unrelated to creating and delivering your book.
Photos you upload
Photos you upload are used to create your book. We will not use them for anything else without asking you first.
Some non-pet visual elements in your book (background objects, common scenes, ornamental details) may be drawn from our shared illustration library and appear in other books. These are not pet-specific images and do not involve your photos.
Once your book has shipped and you have received it, we retain the photos in our records for a reasonable period in case you need a reprint or have a question about your order. You can request that we delete your photos at any time by emailing hello@rowenhollow.com.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to keep the site and checkout working. Our analytics tool does not use cookies and does not collect personal information. You can disable cookies through your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we have about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete information we hold about you (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Opt out of any future marketing communications, should we ever add them
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@rowenhollow.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply (for example, California residents have rights under the CCPA, EU residents have rights under GDPR). We will honor any rights granted to you by applicable law.
How long we keep your information
We retain order information (including what you told us about your pet and photos) for as long as is reasonably necessary to support your order — typically several years after delivery, to handle questions, reprints, or returns.
We retain financial records as required by tax and accounting laws.
You may request earlier deletion by emailing hello@rowenhollow.com. We will delete unless we are legally required to retain the data.
Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage and secure transmission. However, no system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not liable for unauthorized access caused by factors outside our reasonable control.
Children
Rowen Hollow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to existing customers via email when reasonable.
